    FIRE CONTAINED: ‘Bull’ fire damages structures, reaches 21 acres

    TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – Mulitple fire departments battled a grass fire in northern Taylor County.

    On July 24 at about 1:49 p.m., a fire broke out in the area of County Road 646 just off FM 707 north of Tye.

    Public Information Officer Justin Burgess initially stated that residents along County Road 646, County Road 415, and Kings Addition Road should be prepared to evacuate. However, he later shared that no further evacuations are expected but recommended staying prepared in case anything changes.

    The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office reported that at least two structures were affected and sustained damage. The fire is now contained, and crews are monitoring the scene.

    The road was blocked from Mulberry Creek to FM 646. According to the Texas A&M Forest Service , the fire named ‘Bull’ had spread to 21 acres.
