According to a release, the foundation has supported more than 1,600 educators to attend Harvard training with the Raising School Leaders program. The foundation reportedly covers expenses so educators can attend and in turn enhance the quality of education across the state.

“Our alumni report that their Harvard experience is the best professional development they have ever experienced and that they return to their campuses energized, inspired, and empowered to make meaningful change that benefits all students,” Tim Miller, Director of Leadership Development at the Charles Butt Foundation, said.

The principals selected are Alba-Golden ISD’s Brittany Hall, Brownsboro ISD’s Melissa Barrett, Carthage ISD’s Justin Smith, Chapel Hill ISD’s Bethany Moody and Como-Pickton CISD’s Shonda Rutledge.

Moody, the intermediate school principal at Chapel Hill ISD, said the opportunity will allow her to find solutions for her school from a dynamic group of people.

“I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for this opportunity,” Moody said
