Registration opens for local after school program

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – Registration is open for Mentoring Alliance’s after school program for East Texas kids.

Students at the Brook Hill School, Bullard, Chapel Hill, Lindale, Tyler and Whitehouse ISD’s are eligible to apply for the after school programs, which are from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“MA After School provides families with affordable child care options in an environment where kids can learn, grow and have fun,” according to Mentoring Alliance. “Students receive help with homework, play games with their friends and have the option to participate in a weekly Bible study. MA After School staff are deeply invested in helping their students grow in emotional resilience and teaching them to navigate life’s challenges with integrity.”

Pricing for the program is an income-based weekly fee, and there are financial aid and other discounts available.

This year, the program is expanding into The Brook Hill School to serve the Lower School and Lindale ISD to serve the E.J. Moss Intermediate West Campus, College Street Elementary and Velma Penny Elementary.

“We’re grateful to partner with our incredible local school districts to bring our program into schools across the Tyler area,” said Matt Edwards, Executive Director of Greater Tyler at Mentoring Alliance. “Together, we’re able to serve kids and families from more than 30 local schools.”
