TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – In this From The Archives report from 1994, we take a look at the competitive industry of Tyler roses.

From The Archives: What should go on a hot dog?

On Broadway Avenue in 1994, it would be common to see multiple stands of people selling beautiful Tyler roses.

“Going back to the quality, I take a little bit of time, reassure them and help them make sure that the roses will last longer for them,” one rose seller said.

The people of Tyler particularly love buying roses headed into the weekend for their loved ones.

“She likes when I get her flowers and these are the best things going, really,” a rose shopper said.

The vendors said that their 12-hour days are well worth it after selling dozens and dozens of roses during busy weekends.
