Tyler Pickleball fundraising event to help local nonprofits

SMITH COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) — United Way of Smith County will kick off their 84th annual fundraising campaign to help nonprofits.

The event including a pickleball tournament will be held at the Tyler Athletic and Swim Club on August 2. The tournament’s goal is to help fund nonprofit organizations in the Tyler area that aid in education, health and financial stability.

Tickets will range at $100 for teams who would like to play and $30 for those who would like to attend but not play.

“When you participate in an event like this, you’re really doing more than just having fun with your friends and playing pickleball. We’re going to have a lot of fun that evening but really what it is, it’s so much more, when you get involved with united way, your support and your time is helping the people around us and helping provide services for the people in need,” Development Director Devon Smith said.

Dinner will also be included with each ticket and will begin at 5 p.m.
