Tony Romo returns to Tyler for the 2024 Texas State Open

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) — The 54th Texas State Open tees off Tuesday morning in Tyler, and once again, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, will be in the field.

Monday night, Romo met with club members at the Cascades, talking about his career and answering questions, ranging from golf to his thoughts on the current Dallas Cowboys.

Romo has been a mainstay for this event in East Texas and talked about why he looks forward to returning to the Pineywoods for the Texas State Open, year after year.

“It’s a great test to go against the best players and I think to be able to do it here in Tyler, I just love that keeps coming back here because the golf course is in great condition,” said Romo. “The superintendent did a wonderful job the whole staff here, incredible, and then the town and community, it almost makes you feel like, they’re really rooting for you.”

The first round of the Texas State Open starts Tuesday and runs through Friday.

Romo will start at 1:24 in the afternoon, and admission is free.
