“Been waiting for it ever since the last football season,” Braylen Kirkpatrick, Brownsboro football player, said.

Student athletes across the piney woods will be strapping on their helmets and gearing up to hit the gridiron.

“There’s a lot of people that love Friday night lights like the whole town coming to support the whole football team and it’s just great atmosphere,” Kaysn Dial, Palestine Westwood football player, said.

Volleyball and football teams are preparing for their seasons to get underway.

“All of our fans are extremely supportive and they motivate us to play our best and they’re just great,” Nic Boone, Grace football player, said.

From the gridiron to the hardwood, East Texas student athletes are ready for the season.

“We’re so excited I love volleyball season and can’t wait,” Kate Moore, Tyler Legacy volleyball player, said.

School sports wouldn’t be complete without the band, cheerleaders, and the crowds that support them all season long.

“Comes together whenever it comes to football and stuff, football is a big thing around here so I think it a great thing,” Micah Strickland, Brownsboro football player, said.

The athletes are appreciative of their communities’ support.

“I think our fans were one of the main reasons we were successful in our season,” Reagan Hope, Lindale volleyball player, said.

After a summer of preparation and training these East Texas teams look forward to getting back between the lines.

“I feel like there’s nothing else better than playing East Texas ball, man, it’s just a great thing and I love it,” Dial said.

As fall sports begin, that means our Friday Football Fever will be back on August 30th.
