Change is brewing: Alfalfa Farm Winery gets new ownership
The Essex County Brewing Company recently signed a purchase-and-sale agreement to take over Topsfield’s Alfalfa Farm Winery, the metal-signed landmark off Route 95. In a Facebook post last week, the Ipswich-based beer company announced that it “can’t wait to welcome you to our new home.” The company plans for the winery to keep producing wine but to add craft beer and more events, according to a statement from Paul Donhauser, CEO of Essex County Brewing.

At around 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, a group of teens (including five boys and one girl) stole food from CVS. The caller said they were now standing in front of the old Santander building eating. An employee told police they could not do anything about it and needed police to intervene. Police caught up with the kids a short while later.
Celtics legend will be given 2024 championship ring at season opener
Bob Cousy has seen all of the Celtics NBA championships and now the Worcester resident will officially be part of the team’s 18th title win. Celtics team governor Wyc Grousbeck told the Hall of Fame point guard on Tuesday that the franchise would be present Cousy with a championship ring according to Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram.
