WASHINGTON, DC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Fifteen Virginia counties — including Albemarle, Augusta, Greene and Madison — have received primary natural disaster designations from the USDA due to the recent drought. This as we stand to go back into the extremely hot, dry weather pattern that began July from which we’ve gotten a break from in the past couple of weeks. This also means counties bordering these — such as Buckingham, Fluvanna, Orange, Louisa, Nelson, and Culpeper — are also eligible for FSA emergency loans.

Kings Dominion theme park in Virginia announced the arrival of its newest thrill ride.Rapterra will be the world's tallest and longest wing coaster standing at 145 feet and stretching 3,086 feet long.The rollercoaster is set to open in 2025 as a part of Kings Dominion's 50th anniversary season. DOOMS — Virginia State Police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday morning in Augusta County following a head-on collision with a truck. Police said a Crimora man was on a 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle and heading south on U.S. 340 at about 6:30 a.m. when a 1994 Ford F-450 coming from the opposite direction drifted into his lane and struck him head-on, according to Sgt.
