The Arizona Diamondbacks (83-67) fell to the Colorado Rockies (58-93) in a 3-2 walk-off loss Monday night at Coors Field. Despite outhitting Colorado 8-4, the D-backs couldn't capitalize, with the game slipping away.

Tied 2-2 in the ninth, Rockies’ Brendan Rodgers grounded into a force out. Second baseman Ketel Marte threw to Geraldo Perdomo at second to retire Ryan McMahon, but Perdomo's hurried throw to first sailed wide.

That allowed Rodgers to reach safely as Brenton Doyle raced home from third, sealing the walk-off win for Colorado.

Merrill Kelly (4-0, 4.00 ERA) pitched six strong innings, allowing two hits and one earned run, while striking out two.

Kelly mixed his pitches well to keep the Rockies off balance, throwing 27 cutters (33%), 20 changeups (24%), 14 fastballs (17%), 11 sliders (13%), 7 curveballs (8%), and 4 sinkers (5%).

Despite his solid performance, the D-backs couldn't provide enough run support, resulting in a no-decision for Kelly.

    Game Recap:

In the top of the first, leadoff hitter Corbin Carroll ripped a 95-mph fastball from Antonio Senzatela into the left-center gap.

Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle quickly fielded the ball and threw to the cutoff man, who relayed it to Ryan McMahon at third. McMahon applied the tag, but after review, the call was overturned, ruling Carroll safe.

With Carroll in scoring position, Ketel Marte blasted a 94.4-mph fastball into the right-center seats for a two-run homer, giving Arizona a 2-0 lead.

The Rockies answered in the fourth inning when Ezequiel Tovar launched a solo home run, cutting the D-backs' lead to 2-1. In the seventh, Colorado tied the game 2-2 on a solo shot from catcher Hunter Goodman.

In the bottom of the ninth, Doyle led off with a single to center, stole second base, and later scored the winning run on Rodgers' ground ball, giving the Rockies a dramatic 3-2 victory.
