Pork Dynasty Inc., a Houston-based company, is recalling approximately 469 pounds of ready-to-eat fried pork skin products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, according to an announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products contain soy, a known allergen, which was not declared on the product labels. The recall affects two specific products:

    • 3.5-oz. plastic bags labeled “TEXARONES BORN IN THE PHILIPPINES – MADE IN TEXAS FRIED OUT PORK FAT WITH ATTACHED SKIN SPICY”
    • 2.5-oz. plastic bags labeled “TEXARONES BORN IN THE PHILIPPINES – MADE IN TEXAS FRIED PORK SKIN SPICY”

Both products bear the establishment number “EST. 46015” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to retail and restaurant locations across Texas.

The issue was identified during routine FSIS verification procedures when inspectors found that a seasoning containing soy was used in the production process, but the allergen was not listed on the final product's packaging.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. However, FSIS has expressed concern that some consumers may have the affected items in their pantries.

Consumers who purchased these products are urged not to eat them and should either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

Anyone with concerns about illness related to these products should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers can also contact the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-674-6854 or email MPHotline@usda.gov.

The FDA identifies soy as one of the nine major food allergens required to be listed on product labels. For more details, visit www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.

Here we go again ! FDA not doing their job and consumers buying food stuffs from unheard of little DEI companies. Know who you are buying from people. Maybe read the label and packaging. At least know the company!
