Victor Uriel Diego Estrada, 31, of Michoacan, Mexico, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution operation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia announced today.

Authorities seized more than 21,000 grams of methamphetamine and four kilograms of a fentanyl-cocaine mixture during the investigation, the department says.

Estrada was sentenced to 300 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, the department stated

“Victor Estrada produced and distributed massive amounts of methamphetamine, along with deadly quantities of fentanyl,” said U.S. Attorney Leary. “Our priority is to hold individuals like Estrada accountable to make our communities safer.”

According to court documents and statements referenced in court, the investigation began after a confidential source informed the DEA about Estrada’s drug operation in north Georgia. The CS purchased one kilogram of meth from Estrada in November 2023, under DEA surveillance.

A search warrant executed on Estrada’s Walton County home led to the discovery of 21,087.5 grams of methamphetamine, vacuum-sealed bags, scales, and other drug-related equipment.

Further, a search warrant on Estrada’s cell phones revealed conversations about converting liquid meth into crystal meth for distribution.

Another search at a home in Forest Park uncovered 180 kilograms of meth and four kilograms of a fentanyl-cocaine mixture, along with drug lab equipment and a loaded handgun, the department says.

“The investigation demonstrates the DEA’s commitment to dismantle drug trafficking organizations,” said Robert J. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Division.
