Fifteen defendants have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their involvement in a methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking conspiracy, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced today.

The indictment follows the seizure of 100 pounds of methamphetamine and a kilogram of fentanyl pills from a vehicle being transported from San Bernardino, California, to Springfield, Missouri.

The second superseding indictment was unsealed today, revealing the names of the defendants, including Stevie Delane Logan Jr., 34, Daron Cortez Kelly, 36, and Damion Williams, 34, all of Parsons, Kansas. The indictment also includes defendants from Missouri and other parts of Kansas.

They face charges related to drug trafficking, firearms offenses, and money laundering, according to the DEA.

“Today’s indictment is a significant step in dismantling a dangerous drug-trafficking organization that was funneling large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl into Missouri communities,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Robert J. Murphy.

“The collaboration between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies has ensured that these criminals will face justice for their reckless actions.”

The investigation began in January 2024, when an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle being transported on a car hauler. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl hidden in a subwoofer box.

Agents replaced the meth with sham drugs and conducted a controlled delivery, leading to the arrests of several key suspects, including brothers Dontrell and Dreshawn Powell, the department says.

Agents later intercepted communications between Logan and other conspirators and seized additional methamphetamine, firearms, and drug paraphernalia in raids conducted in Missouri and Kansas.

In one search, agents found over 10 pounds of methamphetamine, firearms, and $100,000 in cash, the department stated.

According to court documents, the defendants operated from January 2022 to April 2024. The charges include conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, money laundering, and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

The charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

oops. Missouri is somewhat popular with things these days. I wonder what really happens to all the drugs, guns and money. Wait, can we get a few taxes paid for the little people for a change. How about a wage increase all across the board for anyone under 50k a year...Or maybe cheaper insurance, doctor visits, the growth for affordable housing so people don't start turning main street into the next skid row.I swear, if the rich would stop getting greedy and society started using all the money from the stops and raids, problems would become a thing of the past.I would be labeled as a criminal thinker, but these days, not one person has completely clean hands....end of rant. 😂
