This week the last of ten defendants, each of whom were associated with the “Everybody Shines Together” street gang (also knowns as “EST”), was sentenced as part of a conspiracy involving federal drug and firearms offenses, the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Kentucky announced today

According to court documents, Eric D. Mosley, 33, of Louisville, was sentenced on October 10, 2024, to 20 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, methamphetamine distribution, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, firearm possession during drug trafficking, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Mosley, a convicted felon, was prohibited from owning a firearm due to prior felony convictions, the department stated.

Zaman Taylor, 24, of Louisville, was sentenced on October 3, 2024, to 20 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release for drug trafficking and firearm offenses, including methamphetamine distribution and possession of fentanyl.

Other notable sentences include Darrian Toogood, 27, sentenced in June 2024 to 6 months in prison and 2 years of supervised release for methamphetamine distribution; Devonzo Summers, 27, sentenced in March 2024 to 15 years in prison for fentanyl and methamphetamine distribution; and Barry Reed, 27, sentenced in December 2023 to 15 years in prison for similar charges, according to the department.

Additional sentences in 2023 included Dazaray Rice, 30, who received 3 years of probation for fentanyl distribution; Aerion Cook, 24, who received 10 years for methamphetamine distribution; Khasi Jones, 31, who received 5 years for fentanyl distribution; Cedric Palmer, 28, who received 5 years for methamphetamine distribution; and Ricos Mosley, 36, who was sentenced to 5 years for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, the department says.

“These are significant federal prison sentences for serious violations of the law. Together, we will continue to investigate and aggressively prosecute those who seek to flood our streets and neighborhoods with drugs while illegally using and possessing firearms,” stated U. S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky.

Notably, there is no parole in the federal system.
