Virginia Girl Scouts help sew heart-shaped pillows for cancer patients | Get Uplifted
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A group of young women doing their part to spread joy and healing is helping us get uplifted. Back in April we featured volunteers who have gathered to sew heart-shaped pillows for some hospital patients. For nearly a decade, volunteers from the Woodbridge Women's Club have gotten together to craft pillows for cancer and surgery patients at the Sentara Cancer Network Resource Center in Woodbridge.

Marco’s Pizza closes location in southern Loudoun
The Marco’s Pizza restaurant in the South Riding/Chantilly area of southern Loudoun has closed its doors for good. The announcement was made today via social media. “It is with a heavy heart I inform you that Marco’s Pizza in South Riding has permanently closed for business as of yesterday,” co-owner Chris Browne wrote. “It has been a pleasure serving the community over the last seven years. Unfortunately, we were just unable to keep up with rising costs and have reached a point where staying in business has become unsustainable.”
Woman-Owned Charcuterie and Wine Bar, The Lady Vintner, to Open in Rockville
The Lady Vintner is coming to the lower level of the BLVD Forty Four high-rise apartment tower located at 42 Maryland Ave in Rockville. It will be taking over the space previously occupied by Pour Vino N Hops. The bar plans to offer high-end wine and beer and will feature an in-house sommelier.
