Public weighs in on future of Caro Dam
CARO — The Tuscola County Economic Development Corp. held a meeting Monday at the Brentwood Restaurant, gathering public input about the future of the Caro Dam. About 100 people attended the 75-minute meeting. Before the public comment portion of the meeting began, there were speeches from officials with the U.S Fish. and Wildlife Service, the Tuscola County EDC, and from two Stantec Consulting employees hired by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, who are working on a feasibility study for the dam.

CARO — Earlier this year, the farmer who leases Luder Road property from Tuscola County did some cleaning and clearing. The farmer, Brian Schriber of Almer Township, cleaned out an existing 300-to-400-foot-long ditch that cuts across the property, allowing water to flow off the land and right onto Tuscola County Medical Care Facility property next door.
