2 Local Fire Departments Awarded Funding for Equipment, Training and Supplies
UTICA, N.Y. -- A few upstate fire departments in New York will soon receive a total of $665,310.24 in federal funding. Residents displaced after fire on Liberty Street in Newburgh
NEWBURGH – Several residents were displaced after a fire at 103 Liberty Street in Newburgh on Thursday night. The blaze at the four-story building was reported at 8:08 p.m. Fire crews identified a strong odor of smoke on the upper three floors, which led to the discovery of a small fire in a bedroom on the third floor. The fire was quickly put out using a single sprinkler, limiting the spread of the fire and smoke damage to the building.

Three former employees of Seton Hall Law School have pleaded guilty to a $1.3 million scheme to defraud the university, authorities said. The trio admitted to a wide-ranging scam that included asking vendors to pay them directly, purchasing hundreds of thousands dollars worth of gift cards and forming a shell company to bill the university for services never rendered, U.S. District Attorney Philip R.
