Anchorage doctor and husband indicted on federal health care fraud and tax evasion charges
A grand jury has indicted an Anchorage doctor and her husband in a case that allegedly involved deceiving patients about the medications being injected into their bodies. That’s according to an indictment handed up in federal court July 17 against rheumatologist Claribel Tan and her husband Daniel Tan, who did administrative work at his wife’s clinic, charging them with healthcare fraud and tax evasion.

U.S. intercepts Russian, Chinese bombers off Alaskan coast
The U.S. military intercepted several Russian and Chinese bombers in international airspace near the coast of Alaska Wednesday. Two Russian Tu-95s and two Chinese H-6s entered what is known as the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone, North American Aerospace Defense Command said in a statement Wednesday night.The aircraft were "detected, tracked and intercepted," NORAD said. During the quarterly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Alaska Permanent Fund on Wednesday, the board voted to replace Ethan Schutt at chairman and Ellie Rubenstein as vice chairwoman.
