Putnam/Killingly, CT & Foster, RI – Two men with active warrants were arrested after police followed an airtag on a stolen dirtbike to a Killingly residence. According to the Connecticut State Police (CSP), at approximately 7 PM on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, Troop D was informed by the Putnam Police Department that a stolen dirt bike had been tracked by the owner, using an airtag on the bike, to the area of 96 Knox Ave in Killingly.

Madison Awarded 2024 Community Connectivity Grant
The Town of Madison is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an $800,000 grant from the Community Connectivity Grant Program (CCGP) administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. This competitive grant program provides funding to municipalities to enhance facilities for bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit users in urban, suburban, and rural community centers. The grant will be used for improvements to Scotland Avenue. This includes providing pedestrian safety and accessibility for the surrounding neighborhoods to the downtown center, public transportation facilities, and a town athletic facility. The project includes the addition of sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, guide rails, and traffic signage, as well as drainage enhancements and paving.

TORRINGTON—A Summer Trade Program introducing students to trade school will be held at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School Aug. 12 to 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It is for students entering seventh and eighth grade and will let them explore courses in hairdressing, carpentry, precision machine took, auto, collision repair, health tech, plumbing, heating, cooling, mechanical draft engineering technology, electrical and graphics.
