Police Respond to Bomb Threat at Killingly Business
Killingly, CT – A bomb threat was made against Colt’s Packaging Wednesday morning. The building has since been deemed safe. According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 10:16 AM on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, Killingly Police and Troop D troopers were dispatched to Colt’s Plastics, 969 North Main St, for a reported bomb threat made to the business.
State Funds on the Way for Sidewalk Extension
More than $700,000 in state funds are on the way thanks to a grant from the state Department of Transportation (DOT). In a July 19 press release, State Senator Christine Cohen (D12) announced that $739,765 would be heading to Guilford for a sidewalk improvement project that is expected to extend Boston Post Road sidewalks to the Madison town line. The extension will come as part of the town’s ongoing efforts to improve and extend sidewalks to improve walkability. In 2022, a project installed sidewalks along Route 77, connecting Adams Middle School to Hubbard Road and repairing a sidewalk section on Boston Street. In 2023, the town added sidewalks to connect Boston Street to Boston Post Road.

Wife Convicted Of Killing UConn Professor Found Dead At Burlington Home On Sentencing Day
Hartford County resident Linda Kosuda-Bigazzi, age 76, of Burlington, was found dead at her Smith Lane home on Wednesday, July 24, Connecticut State Police announced. According to authorities, just after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, state troopers were told that no one had been able to make contact with Kosuda-Bigazzi at her home. After the trooper's attempts to make contact with her also failed, they entered the home and found her unresponsive, declaring her dead at the scene.
