Nationwide Recall: Undeclared Allergen Could Trigger Life-Threatening Reactions

Niitakaya USA Inc. has announced a recall of its 5.2 ounce (147 gram) packages of #3700 Shiso Katsuo Ninniku and #3701 Miso Katsuo Ninniku due to undeclared fish (bonito) allergen. These products, which have been distributed to retail stores nationwide, pose a serious risk for consumers with fish allergies.

The affected products come in clear plastic packaging marked with the Niitakaya logo and the Best By date located on the top back part of the package. No illnesses have been reported, but the recall was issued as a precautionary measure after discovering that the products were distributed without proper labeling of the fish allergen.

Niitakaya USA Inc. is suspending distribution of these products until the issue is resolved. Consumers who have purchased these items and have fish allergies are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
