Polk County Man Steals Tires From Work, Then Asks Boss to Install Them

Jesua Alvarez, 36, was arrested in Polk County for allegedly stealing tires from his workplace, McGee Tires, and then installing them on his vehicle—at the same workplace.

According to a briefing by Sheriff Grady Judd on September 20, Alvarez claimed he had purchased the tires online and asked his employer if it was okay to put them on his vehicle. His employer agreed, unaware the tires had been stolen.

Later, while taking inventory, the employer noticed the tires were missing and reported the incident to the authorities. Polk County officials launched an investigation, revealing the truth behind Alvarez's actions.

"He stole the tires from his boss, then used his boss’s equipment to put the stolen tires on his vehicle," Sheriff Judd remarked.

Alvarez was uncooperative when deputies first attempted to make contact, but after some encouragement from his mother, he was taken into custody.

Alvarez is now facing charges of Grand Theft $750 LT $5,000.
