Youngstown Grape Distributors Inc. has voluntarily recalled two flavors of its Happy Moose Juice—Tropical Roots and Strawberry Fields—over concerns that certain bottles may not have undergone proper High Pressure Processing (HPP). This treatment is essential for extending shelf life and preventing the growth of harmful pathogens like Salmonella, Listeria, and E. coli, which can cause serious foodborne illnesses.

The recall involves Tropical Roots (Lot# H240903-E) and Strawberry Fields (Lot# H240903-H), both with a "Best By" date of December 2, 2024. A total of 1,701 bottles of Tropical Roots and 1,017 bottles of Strawberry Fields have been affected, sold in 12-ounce RPET plastic bottles. The issue was identified after complaints of spoiled juice were received, though no reports of illness have been linked to the products so far.

Consumers who purchased these juices are urged to return them for a full refund. Questions can be directed to Youngstown Grape Distributors at 559-797-0252 during business hours.
