Reser’s Fine Foods has announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of meal kits due to the use of chicken from an outside supplier, BrucePac, which has been recalled due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall affects meal kits sold under the Bistro 28 and Don Pancho brands:

Listeria monocytogenes is a dangerous organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in vulnerable populations, including young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. While healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths among pregnant women.

    Affected States:
The recalled meal kits were distributed in the following states:
AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MO, NE, NY, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WY.

Reser’s Fine Foods has stopped using ingredients from BrucePac’s impacted facility to prevent any future risk of contamination.

    What Consumers Should Do:
Consumers who have purchased these meal kits are urged not to consume them. They can return the kits to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard the product.
