Popular Brands of Frozen Waffles Recalled Nationwide Over Listeria Concerns

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has voluntarily recalled multiple frozen waffle products distributed across the United States and Canada due to the potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Brands affected by this recall include Kodiak, Great Value, Simple Truth, and several others.

This organism can cause serious health risks, particularly for young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems. Pregnant women are especially at risk as the infection can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.

No illnesses have been reported at this time, and the contamination was identified through routine testing at the manufacturing facility. However, the company urges consumers to take caution, as symptoms of Listeria infection may include high fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

The recalled waffle products are sold under various brand names which can be found in full here. Consumers are advised to check their freezers and return any of the recalled items to the place of purchase for a refund.
