Sometimes it’s just not the goals that win the game, it’s the ones who find those that can make the goals. Pedro Sao Tiago grabbed two assists in getting goals to Joao Pedro Giraldez Franco and Guilherme Mendes in the second half to push the Wildcats (1-0-0) past Texas Wesleyan Rams (0-2-0). Adrian Amoros Navarro scored the other goal for LCU. The Wildcats outshot the Rams 26-4, not allowing a single shot in the second half. Adrian Amoros Navarro and Thiago Lopes each had six shots for LCU. Rodrigo Silva had one save.

Texas Wesleyan struck fast in the 5th minute with a goal from Chandler Brookins. LCU was awarded a penalty kick in the 23rd minute which Adrian Amoros Navarro put in the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1. The score remained locked at 1-1 to halftime.

LCU locked down on control of the ball and collected six corners in their third of the pitch. Joao Pedro Giraldez Franco broke the stalemate in the 67th minute to give the Wildcats the 2-1 lead. Guilherme Mendes added an insurance goal for the win in the 86th minute as Sao Tiago was credited with his second, second half assists.

LCU men will return to action at home on Saturday at 7 pm where they will face University of Science and Arts at 7 pm at Wildcat Field.
