SD Highway Crash Claims One Life
A Sunday evening ATV crash claimed the life of one and severely injured another near Garretson, SD. Preliminary crash information indicates a 2022 Polaris ATV was traveling north on 487th Avenue, a gravel road, lost control, and entered the ditch. The vehicle rolled, ejecting both occupants. The driver, a 16-year-old female from Garretson, SD, received fatal injuries. A passenger, Mark T. Pierret, was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Neither was using their seatbelt.The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Update on fatal UTV crash in Minnehaha County
GARRETSON, S.D. (KELO) — The South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS) has provided an update into a fatal crash that occurred near Garretson on July 21. According to the DPS, the vehicle in question was a Polaris RZR side-by-side, which rolled after the 16-year-old driver lost control on a gravel road east of Garretson.

SDDOT To Activate Temporary Traffic Signals During Sturgis Rally
(Sturgis, SD) — The South Dakota Department of Transportation will activate temporary traffic signals ahead of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
