Union City, Georgia, is undergoing a dramatic transformation, thanks to the leadership of Mayor Vince Williams . In a recent interview on The Rashad Richey Morning Show , Mr. Williams discussed the city’s rapid development, his administration’s achievements, and future plans amid significant growth.

Under Mr. Williams' leadership, Union City has become the fastest-growing city in Georgia. He highlighted the city’s impressive economic progress, including a notable financial turnaround. When Mr. Williams took office, Union City faced a significant financial deficit. Through effective management, he reversed this trend, achieving an 81% increase in financial stability during his first term. This fiscal health has facilitated substantial developments and job creation.

A key highlight of Union City’s growth is the Atlanta Metro Studios , a multi-million dollar film studio that has become a major economic driver. The studio not only attracts industry but also provides jobs for around 1,000 individuals, most of whom are Georgians. This project reflects Union City’s success in drawing major investments and creating employment opportunities.

Mr. Williams also addressed challenges associated with rapid growth, particularly in housing and healthcare. To combat the need for affordable housing, the city is developing 20 new units for seniors in collaboration with Christian City. This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to meeting the needs of its diverse population.

In response to Union City’s designation as a healthcare desert, Mr. Williams has partnered with Grady Health System to establish a new emergency room facility. Scheduled to open in early 2026, this 20,000 square foot facility will offer comprehensive emergency care, including a pharmacy and advanced imaging capabilities. This development aims to significantly improve healthcare access for local residents.

Throughout the interview, Mr. Williams emphasized that Union City's growth is not just about numbers but about enhancing the quality of life for its residents. He noted the city’s increasing diversity and its appeal as a place where people from various backgrounds can thrive.
