UT-Martin Announces Agreement With TCAT Northwest
The University of Tennessee at Martin has signed an articulation agreement with Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest. A signing ceremony was held at TCAT’s Northwest Bells Instructional Service Center in Crockett County. The agreement will now enable more students in West Tennessee to pursue a degree through UT-Martin.
E.W. James Celebrates 90 Years
E.W. James Supermarkets all started back in 1934, when Etheridge William “E.W.” James, the 31-year-old clerk in Hickman, KY, made an agreement to purchase a small corner grocery store from his brother-in-law. His business grew, so E.W. decided to purchase another store located in downtown Hickman, which he called “Cash & Carry.” Mr. James also bought pecans and furs from local dealers.

Dalton Jones slaps wife in the back of her head during argument while driving
54-year-old Dalton Andrew Jones had a domestic altercation with his wife, Sylvia Jones, in their vehicle near Peachers Mill Road and Purple Heart Parkway late May 21st. Officers arrived at the Peachers Mill Road Casey’s and spoke with Mr. Jones. Dalton stated he had pulled over at the intersection near the gas station during their argument. Once they pulled over, Sylvia bit him on the right forearm and pulled the keys out of the ignition. Dalton said he retrieved the keys from her and drove to Casey’s. Dalton told officers that when he pulled over, he slapped her on the back of the head. When asked about the biting, Sylvia denied ever biting him. Dalton told officers he did not slap her. Both Dalton and Sylvia were taken into custody for domestic assault on May 22nd.
