Federal employees killed an adult female wolf from the Tower Mountain Pack in Union County on July 10 after state biologists confirmed that wolves from the pack had killed six sheep and injured a sheep protection dog in separate attacks in the Fly Creek area south of Starkey on July 2.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on July 5 authorized USDA Wildlife Services, a federal agency, to kill one wolf from the Tower Mountain Pack following the July 2 attacks.
