Theft reported at Union County coffee shop
Mifflinburg, Pa. — Someone broke into a coffee shop trailer over the weekend in Union County and took several hundred dollars, according to police. Trp. Hill of state police at Milton says the weekend of June 29 and 30, the unknown suspect broke into IV Coffee Co.'s trailer on Red Barn Road in Buffalo Township and took $300. The coffee shop made a post Monday on their Facebook page, asking the public for help with leads for the burglary incident. "Over the weekend our Mifflinburg location that holds our trailer was broken into. Hundreds of dollars taken. We have already gone through the appropriate avenue to report it and they have advised that I make a post asking for help from my followers.If you happen to have any leads or heard any talk of someone bragging about this, please contact me (Kari) or Trooper Hill with the Pennsylvania State Police," the post read. "And just a gentle reminder that every single little dollar makes an impact for small businesses like mine that pay for our electric bill, little league for my boy and so much more." A concert and fireworks show started at 7 p.m. at the Wolfe Field in Lewisburg. Saturday is the big parade which goes through downtown. Officials expect to have a flyover from a plane that was built in the 50s all the way from the Air Heritage Aviation Museum in Beaver County.
Wanted Man Apprehended in Sunbury
The Daily Item reports a wanted man has been arrested in Sunbury. 51-year-old Thomas Donrfranesco was taken into custody on Thursday following a short pursuit in Union County. The man was wanted after police tried to stop him June 7th on Woodlawn Avenue in the city. Police say Donrfranesco was asked to exit the vehicle after officers saw illegal drugs. He allegedly fled the scene leading police on a high speed chase, which ended near Watsontown. He was able to get away that time, but was arrested Thursday. Donrfranesco is locked up in the Northumberland County Jail.

Victim reports 1-month-old calf was stolen
Millmont, Pa. — Someone stole a 1-month-old Hereford calf last weekend from a fenced-in pasture in Lewis Township, Union County, police say. The victim reported that the calf and a 6-foot cattle gate was taken sometime between 6 p.m. June 21 and 7 a.m. June 22 from their pasture at the 14700 block of Old Turnpike Road, according to Trp. Lewisburg, Pa. — A 64-year-old Union County woman who had life-threatening injuries from a hammer attack was released from the hospital Tuesday. The woman's husband, Robert D. Lane restriction on I-80 eastbound in Union County due to crash
Montoursville, Pa. – A lane restriction is in place on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 199 (Mile Run Exit) in West Buffalo Township, Union County, due to a vehicle crash. Expect the left (passing) lane to be restricted. Traffic is backed up approximately 2-miles from the crash site. Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution. According to a 10:54 a.m. post on Union County Fire Wire, the crash was severe and required multiple rescue units and Lifeflight 4. There is no word yet on the type or number of vehicles involved in the crash or suspected injuries.
