Car fire starts brush fire in Yakima along Ahtanum Road
YAKIMA, Wash. – A car that caught fire sparked a brush fire near the Wiley Union Church on Ahtanum Road, according to West Valley Fire-Rescue. WVFR says crews are on Ahtanum Road shuttling water. The road is not closed, however drivers are asked to slow down when passing through.
This Washington Fire Year Really Isn’t Easy!
Current Situation: The Easy Fire is burning through dense timber, dead trees, and ground vegetation on very steep terrain. Activity near State Route 20 has moderated, but there is still fire within the north and south sides of the perimeter. Firefighters, in collaboration with the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT), have been clearing debris and fallen trees from the highway. Jugging is when a criminal suspect or group targets a customer leaving a bank ATM, or building with a significant amount of cash.
