OMAK, Wash. – A brush fire near Omak has caused level 1 evacuations to be issued for nearby residents. Okanogan County Emergency Management reported that the fire, situated near Sand Flat Road and north of Engh Road, is spreading south, east, and west. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and mindful of emergency vehicles in the area. No information has been given the size of the fire yet.

Fire burning west of Mansfield swells to 1,000 acres
MANSFIELD - A 1,000-acre fire known as the 'Road 11 Fire' is burning in northern Douglas County tonight. Fortunately, no known structures are threatened with no evacuations issued. Authorities report that a downed power line sparked the fire in Withrow, which is about 16 miles southwest of Mansfield. The start of the fire was reported just after 2 p.m. on July 4. The fire spans mostly north to south between Road 11 and Road 13. Due to the direction of the wind, the active fire is likely burning to the northwest. Douglas County Sheriff's Officials say more resources are expected to arrive Friday morning.
