    2 dead, 1 injured after car vs motorcycle crash in Marshall County

    MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A crash involving a motorcycle and a car has left two people dead and one person injured in Marshall County.

    According to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and US Highway 231 in Union Grove on Saturday around 7 p.m.

    The coroner says that the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene and has been identified as 27-year-old Blake Hicks, of Arab.

    The driver of the car was transported to Marshall Medical Center North where she was pronounced dead. The coroner tells News 19 that the driver of that car has been identified as 75-year-old Carolyn Thompson, of Joppa.

    According to the coroner, a passenger in the car was also taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

    The Brindlee Mountain Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office Chaplain all assisted during the incident.

    The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
