‘People OD on it every single day’: Authorities weigh in on dangers of fentanyl in North Alabama
A Huntsville man authorities are calling a "drug dealer" caught and behind bars. 36-year-old Trenton Lorenzo Grays remains in the Madison County Jail on a $4 million bond. The North Alabama Drug Task Force seized eight different kinds of drugs, including more than 13 ounces of fentanyl, 4 ounces of crack cocaine, and 500 Xanax pills.

Carver Jones Market opened in Fairfield on Wednesday, the first grocery offering fresh meat and produce in the city in nearly a decade. The Rev. Alton Hardy, founding pastor of Urban Hope Community Church, which he started in 2012, began working several years ago with supermarket veteran James Harris, now CEO of Carver Jones Market, to come up with a plan for their shared vision of a grocery to serve a needy community.

Alabama surgery center facility sells for $6.81M
An outpatient surgery facility in Gardendale, Ala., has sold for $6.81 million, according to a July 25 report from the Birmingham Business Journal. The Gardendale Surgery Center property is affiliated with Brookwood Baptist Health, which acquired the practice in 2015.
