Bomb threat causes evacuation at Rockford Woodman’s grocery store
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Woodman’s Food Market, at 3155 McFarland Road, was evacuated Saturday afternoon for a bomb threat, according to police. Police responded to the scene around noon Saturday and evacuated customers from the store. According to published reports, police later said no bomb was found. Woodman’s reopened following the all-clear.
Person dies from fall at Starved Rock State Park: Illinois DNR
One person died from a fall on Saturday at Illinois Canyon inside Starved Rock State Park in LaSalle County, authorities said. Baby dies in double fatal crash near Cle Elum
CLE ELUM – A 2-year-old child is dead after a single-vehicle crash on I-90 near Cle Elum early Saturday. Troopers report that the crash happened just east of Cle Elum at around 2:34 a.m. Authorities report that 44-year-old Jeffrey White of Kirkland, Illinois was going west on the interstate when he left the roadway, struck an embankment, than the canal wall and landed on his top. Jeffrey and a passenger died at the scene. The deceased passenger was identified as 2-year-old Maelynn White of Kirkland, Illinois. The other passenger injured in the crash is 5-year-old Jackson White of Kirkland, Illinois. The cause of the crash is unknown. Everyone was buckled up.
