OLCC rolls out new process to apply for liquor licenses
OREGON – The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission or OLCC is rolling out a new process for businesses to apply for liquor licenses. Earlier this week the commission launched the new Cannabis and Alcohol Management Program (CAMP). The online portal will allow businesses to pay online, upload additional documents, and track the application process.

Backers of wildlife road passages eye 4 sites on Hwy 20 in Central Oregon
A group of 18 organizations say they are one step closer to building four wildlife passages or crossings over Highway 20 in Central Oregon. As the region’s human population boomed in the last decade, a 35-mile stretch of road between Suttle Lake and Bend had some of the highest rates of deer and elk vehicle collisions in the state from 2010 to 2016, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Imbler School Board approves new track construction, groundbreaking set for August 20
IMBLER – After months of dedicated planning, outreach, and fundraising, the Imbler Track and Field Community Project has hit its biggest and most important milestone to date. Imbler Track Committee chair Ian Gordon announced that, on August 12, the Imbler Education Foundation officially approved expenditures for the field lights, track base and track surfacing. The next day, the Imbler School Board officially approved the actual construction of the track. Roughly 13 months after its initial announcement, the Imbler Track and Field Community Project will officially break ground.

LA GRANDE — The La Grande Police Department is warning residents of a scam involving individuals impersonating law enforcement officers. The department has received reports of people pretending to be officers or detectives, claiming that the target has missed a subpoena, grand jury appearance, or court date. The scammers then demand a fine be paid to avoid legal consequences.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Wildland firefighters could have a new tool in their arsenal as they battle increasingly extreme wildfires: high-altitude balloons.
