Groundbreaking held for new amphitheater at the Refuge
The Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge held a groundbreaking ceremony during its annual Spring Celebration on Saturday, May 18 to celebrate and kick-start the construction of its new amphitheater that will be built behind the Oak Savannah Learning Center. Representatives of the Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, Refuge staff, Bernick Family Foundation, Central Minnesota Arts Board, and Sherburne County Swampbucks participated in the ceremony.

New Minnesota state flag unfurls above state capitol building
The sun had not yet risen on the morning of May 11 when the old Minnesota state flag was brought down the flagpole. Student artists celebrated by Princeton School Board
During the Princeton School Board meeting on Tuesday, May 7, the board took the time to celebrate and recognize four of the district’s most talented student artists. One student from each school in the district was selected by their art teacher to have their art displayed in the District Center for a year, and each student received a certificate of the recognition.
Fire academy graduates Baldwin firefighters
Sixteen fire service recruits graduated from the Elk River Fire Academy in an April 24 ceremony at Zabee Theater inside Elk River High School.
