Christ Our Light Parish in Princeton recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning stages of construction at the site where its new building will be built. The event was held at 11700 293rd Ave. NW, Princeton and was also held on the anniversary of the parish itself.

Groundbreaking held for new amphitheater at the Refuge
The Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge held a groundbreaking ceremony during its annual Spring Celebration on Saturday, May 18 to celebrate and kick-start the construction of its new amphitheater that will be built behind the Oak Savannah Learning Center. Representatives of the Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, Refuge staff, Bernick Family Foundation, Central Minnesota Arts Board, and Sherburne County Swampbucks participated in the ceremony.

New Minnesota state flag unfurls above state capitol building
The sun had not yet risen on the morning of May 11 when the old Minnesota state flag was brought down the flagpole. Sixteen fire service recruits graduated from the Elk River Fire Academy in an April 24 ceremony at Zabee Theater inside Elk River High School.
