Forchelli Deegan Terrana adds prominent LI law firm

Forchelli Deegan Terrana (FDT), the law firm headquartered in Uniondale, has added the attorneys and staff of Cronin, Harris & Associates, a real-estate tax law firm, to its existing tax certiorari practice group. Laureen Harris, who had served as senior partner at Cronin, will hold the same title at FDT.

A real estate industry veteran and president of Association for a Better Long Island, Harris has extensive expertise on tax certiorari proceedings in New York State. She has counseled clients on many of the top real estate tax matters across the state.

“I have known Laureen for more than two decades,” John Terrana, co-managing partner of FDT, said in a written statement. “She is a well-respected attorney with strong ties to the Long Island community. Laureen is an advocate; a partner clients want by their side. I am glad that [she] and her team have joined us.”

Harris has obtained hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate tax refunds and savings for her clients in commercial real estate, including office buildings, industrial parks, shopping malls and apartment complexes.

In her role as ABLI president, and a member of its board of directors since 1996, Harris and the board work to enhance life on Long Island and protect the region’s economic future.

The addition of the Cronin firm brings FDT to more than 150 attorneys and staff members. With the expanded team, the firm aims to enhance offerings through its practice groups including Land Use & Zoning, IDA Benefits & Government Incentives, Environmental and Litigation, and more.
