A partner at Uniondale-based Forchelli Deegan Terrana, Stephanie M. Alberts co-chairs the firm’s tax, trusts and estates practice group. Her practice includes the development of an individualized estate plan for each client that adheres to the client’s estate planning objectives. She represents clients in all stages of the estate administration process, from the probate process through final distribution of assets.

Alberts routinely prepares wills, trusts and other estate planning documents and has extensive knowledge of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax as well as income tax issues related to estate planning.

The attorney is a member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative, a resource open to all attorneys that is dedicated to promoting equality, achieving goals, creating meeting agendas tailored to women’s issues, strengthening relationships and celebrating successes.

Alberts is a member of the American Bar Association, trusts and estates committee of the New York State Bar Association, and the board of directors of the Nassau County Bar Association. Her affiliations also include American Business Associates of Long Island, ProVisors and the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County.

A graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, Alberts has received many industry accolades, including being named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list in 2023 and to Super Lawyers’ New York Metro Rising Stars lists in 2013 and 2021. LIBN presented her with a Leadership in Law award in 2016 and named her to the Who’s Who in Professional Services in 2019. Additionally, Alberts received a 2020 Power Women of Long Island award from Schneps Media.
