Old Riverton Store Receives NTHP Preservation Grant
The National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) recently awarded the Nelson’s Old Riverton Store with a Route 66 Legacy Business Grant this year from funds designated to recognizes the value of the long-standing local businesses that contribute to the Route 66 experience. Small, locally owned businesses are the heart and soul of Route 66. The goal, besides recognizing these small, locally owned businesses, was to help make the preservation of Route 66 structures economically viable. The National Trust has been working to identify Route 66 legacy businesses since June of last year.
Kansas man seriously injured after Missouri boating accident on Fourth of July
WARSAW, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas family’s boating trip ended with serious injury on the Fourth of July after one man was hit by a propeller at Lake of the Ozarks. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, emergency crews were called to mile marker 36 on the Osage arm of Lake of the Ozarks with reports of a boating accident.
Kansas nearing finalized plan for student transportation to football games in 2024
Kansas Athletics is working on a plan to ensure KU students have access to transportation to home football games this fall. With David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium under construction, the Jayhawks are set to play their home games off campus in 2024.
