HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Uniontown Water Rescue has a new boat.

Officials posted the department took delivery of its new boat Monday morning. Officials think the build turned out “amazing.”

KYTC projects for the week of June 30 to July 6, 2024

The agency thanked Union County citizens, the Union County Fiscal Court and Union County Emergency Management for making this happen.

A spokesperson posted, “We are blessed to have a new, more reliable asset to serve the citizens of Union County!”

Officials with the Uniontown Water Rescue say this has been in the works for about two to three years. Four years ago, the department started to rebuild itself, and as part of this rebuild, the department decided to get some better equipment.

“Superintendent of the Year” named in Union Co.

The Uniontown Water Rescue says its old boat was reliable, but the motor in it went out and the company who built the boat went bankrupt during the pandemic. As a result, it was hard to get new parts for the old boat, so the organization decided to get a new boat.

Officials with the Uniontown Water Rescue say they have been blessed with the support from Union County, especially since the agency rebuilt four years ago.
