WENATCHEE—The Wenatchee Homeless Housing Network (HHN) opened at Link Transit’s Columbia Station in Downtown Wenatchee. It aims to connect community members who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to various local resources. Through teamwork with a plethora of local organizations, the HHN works to help at-risk Wenatchee inhabitants find independence, stability, and housing to meet their individual needs.

LAPWAI - An Air Quality Advisory continues to be in effect for the Nez Perce Reservation due to smoke from nearby wildfires. Wildfire smoke may shift in and out of the area based on fire activity and wind conditions, leading to varying levels of air quality across different regions. As a precaution, no EPA/NPT burn permits will be approved during this period. This advisory will remain in effect until Monday, July 29, at 10:00 AM.

Wildfires Update-Juliaetta Remains Evacuated-River Fire Closes US12
An incident management team has been called in to lead the firefighting effort for a complex of blazes in Southern Latah and Northern Nez Perce Counties. The fires were sparked during Wednesday’s thunderstorm. Two major fires are burning between Juliaetta in the Potlatch River Canyon in Latah County and Myrtle in the Clearwater River Canyon in Nez Perce County. The 2,000 acre Gwen Fire South of Juliaetta has forced to the sheriff’s office to order a mandatory evacuation of that community. The 2,000 acre River Fire is burning nearby in Nez Perce County. Structures have been destroyed but officials have stated how many or what types of buildings have been lost. The fires have closed State Highway 3 South of Juliaetta and U.S. Highway 12 between U.S. Highway 95 and the Orofino area.
Lightning storm causes several fires in Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests
KAMIAH, Idaho – A large lightning storm in northern Idaho started 12 fires across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests on Wednesday. According to the US Forest Service, the fires have drawn firefighters from four different fire districts, and crews are still looking for additional fires. While no structures are threatened, air quality has decreased throughout the forest system.
