OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - Corporate Woods was plenty busy Friday night after a flooded creek postponed the city’s fireworks show and canceled the festival portion. The performers and vendors had other gigs, so it turned into more of a picnic and tailgate environment with a cool breeze as the sun set behind the tall office buildings and tree-lined grassy areas. OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - The 17-year-old who pleaded guilty to the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl from Lawrence has been sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison. Johnson County, Kansas, District Court records indicate that Davon D. Washington, 17, of Olathe, has been sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison for the shooting death of 15-year-old Brianna Higgins, of Lawrence.
