Oct 2023: Construction continues on Gullstrand south of Governor in University City near former Town Park Villas Golf Course
If you live in the University City area of Governor Drive east of Genesee towards Gullstrand, then you already know that construction continues in the area of the former Town Park Villas Golf Course on Gullstrand south of Governor. The older 1960s buildings on the east side an Gullstrand are being demolished and replaced with two and three story apartment buildings similar to what exists today on Governor and Gullstrand. Construction continues at the Avia La Jolla project on Gullstrand St south of Governor. Photos attached were taken on Monday, October 9, 2023.

October 2023 – Pure Water construction continues on Genesee and Governor; expect congestion and delays
Construction continues in the University City area for the Morena Northern Pipelines & Tunnels project, part of Pure Water San Diego Phase 1 construction. At the Genesee Avenue and Governor Drive intersection, construction work began in September 2023. The work is scheduled at night, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for four to six weeks. The intersection will be open for traffic and pedestrians during the daytime. Please expect delays and allow for additional time traveling through the construction zone.
