    Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese signs deal with Reese's, launches apparel line

    Aug. 21 (UPI) -- WNBA rookie Angel Reese, who refers to her Chicago Sky fans as "Reese's Pieces," signed a sponsorship with Reese's, the candy brand announced Wednesday. She also is releasing a Reese's Collection that bears the brand's logo.

    "The fans really made this happen," Reese said in a news release.

    "This collection is for my Reese's Pieces -- who've been with me every step of the way and the design elements bring together things that I love -- basketball, style, and of course, Reese's!"

    The apparel line on TheAngelReese.com features jerseys, hooded sweatshirts, T-shirts and hats. Reese, which is owned by The Hershey Co., said another apparel line will drop at a later date.

    Reese, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is averaging 13.6 points and a league-high 12.3 rebounds per game this season. She totaled 19 points and 20 rebounds in the Sky's 86-68 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday in Phoenix.

    The Sky (11-16) sit in the No. 8 spot in the WNBA standings. The Top 8 teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the WNBA playoffs, which start in September.

    The Sky will face the Connecticut Sun (20-7) at 7:30 p.m. EDT Friday in Uncasville, Conn.
