Cameron Vick told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he was feeling confident about his chances when he bought a $1 ticket for the Aug. 20 Cash 5 drawing using the lottery's website.

"It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing," he said. "I really just decided to play out of the blue."

Vick, a UPS driver for 37 years, told a man along his route about his confidence.

"I told him, 'I'm going to win this one,'" he recalled.

Vick's predication came true that evening when he scored the $160,756 jackpot. He quickly told one of his friends about his good luck.

"He hugged me and started crying," Vick said.

Vick said his winnings will go toward making some home repairs.
