The crash on Saturday caused a fire in townhomes and left nearly 9,000 without power as debris knocked out a nearby transmission line, local officials said. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that there were two people on the plane, and a local fire official said one townhouse occupant was unaccounted for, according to local media reports .

The accident caused multiple injuries , according to Lewis and Multnomah County Sheriff's Deputy John Plock, who said there were multiple impact sites as debris from the crashed twin-engine Cessna 421C was strewn about. Five families have been displaced.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board were on scene Saturday night working to document the wreckage and remove it from the site.

Power crews continued to work to restore power and secure the damaged transmission line.
