The OHP said on social media that a truck with a makeshift trailer lost multiple chickens over the course of about a mile on westbound and eastbound Interstate 44 in Tulsa.

"Trooper Carlos Zavala #343 saw a woman trying to corral a chicken using the concrete barrier so he relieved her of her duties," the post said.

The post said Zavala was able to wrangle the chicken, and the rest of the birds were also successfully rescued.

"Sometimes even the chicken needs help crossing the road," the OHP said.

Sad that chickens would rather jump from a moving vehicle than to meet their demise at the factory 😞
